Rosé Gris de Gris 2022

Fontsainte’s rosé is a gris de gris, which means it is made primarly from a grey grape, in this case Grenache Gris, which is a pinkish-grey mutation of the red Grenache grape and grown to a limited extent in the south of France. It is made by the saignée method, which allows the juice to be is contact with the grape skins for a short period of time, in this case about 24 hours, before the juice is bled off. This contact with the skin is how the wine gets its pick hue, but it also picks up flavours and aromatic compounds.
